Winter Market at Las Vegas Market Exhibit Experience Guide

Oct 13, 2021

Las Vegas Market (LVMKT) is the premiere gift and home market in the western U.S. Twice a year, they play host to buyers, designers and exhibitors during their Summer and Winter Markets. Coming up this January is their 2022 Winter Market!

During the Winter Market, creators and exhibitors showcase their latest home, gift, furniture and décor products to buyers from every distribution channel out there. The LVMKT’s unique business-to-business show model provides cross-category resources to attract customers and a compelling market experience on their world-class, state-of-the-art campus.

LVMKT’s main goal is to foster business relationships and grow awareness and sales for west-coast products. That’s why their theme for the Winter Market is What’s Next Starts Now.

Who will be there?

Members of the home furnishings, gift and design trades, including retailers, buyers, interior designers, architects, specifiers, purchasing companies and more, will all be attending the LVMKT Winter Market. Since proof of trade status is required to register for the market, everyone visiting a booth in the Winter Market’s three showrooms is a qualified, verified buyer.

They’re there to find What’s Next.

Previous Markets have seen tens of thousands of buyers from 50 states and over 120 countries; there is always a heavy concentration of western buyers who do not attend markets anywhere else. The LVMKT Winter Market is your only chance to get your products in front of these potential retailers.

Buyers come from every distribution channel you can think of:

  • Antique Stores
  • Apparel Stores
  • Architect / Contractor / Builder / Developer
  • Bookstores
  • Buying Groups
  • Chain Stores
  • Contract Hospitality
  • Decorative Accessory Stores

42 percent of attendees shop all three categories while they’re there: Furniture, Home Décor and Gifts. This makes LVMKT the only major home furnishings market in the west that has a high ROI for exhibitors.

Exhibiting at Las Vegas Market

When you exhibit at LVMKT, you have access to their cross-category resources, digital platform and a whole slew of exhibit tools. That’s because the LVMKT is dedicated to ensuring every exhibitor finds success on their showroom floors.

The first step is to decide which showroom works best for you. LVMKT’s Winter Market has three options:

Permanent Showroom

This showroom stays set up all year round and isn’t specific to any one market. It’s ideal for exhibitors who are looking for a spot in the center of the western furniture market, where they can bring customers between shows, sell to designers year-round, and have the time to redesign their showroom in between markets. Pick this showroom if you’re looking for a longer-term lease at a lower rate.

Gift and Home Temporaries

This showroom is like your typical tradeshow floor – it features short-term booth-style exhibits that go up during the Market and come down after. The Gift and Home Temporaries features more than 500 gift and home collection lines during each Market. These products are presented in six categories: Gift, Home, Design, Handmade, Luxe and Immediate Delivery. Pick this showroom if your products fall within one of those categories – and you’re just there for the Winter Market.

B2 Furniture Temporaries

Like the Gift and Home Temporaries, the B2 Furniture Temporaries is similar to a tradeshow floor. Its centralized location near-permanent furniture showrooms and resources will give you an edge when selling to anyone who stops by your booth. LVMKT also offers a flexible floor plan, onsite promotion and comprehensive show support. The B2 Furniture Temporaries features a wide range of categories, including case goods, dining tables, sofas, chairs, recliners, rustic furniture, traditional wood furnishings, office furniture, occasional tables, home décor, and more. Pick this showroom if you sell furniture and want to showcase it during the Winter Market.

Once you’ve selected your showroom – and reserved your booth space – it’s time to design your space so it’ll stand out from the crowd and show potential buyers that what’s next for them starts with you.

There are a few things you can do to make sure your booth stands out!

Exhibit Experience’s Tips

Exhibit Experience has spent years designing and setting up winning booths. We know how to make the most of a big show like LVMKT Winter Market … and we’re sharing a few of our tips with you.

  1. Plan your booth ahead: Will you rent, build or use existing materials?
  2. Design a memorable in-booth experience: No matter the size, your booth should tell a seamless brand story. Pro Tip: include an interactive experience for your booth visitors.
  3. Build and train the right team: Having the right booth staff is just as important as having the right design; include a mix of people from sales, technical, customer service and management;
  4. Ditch the hard sell: Instead of trying to get sales, focus instead on how your products or services solve a problem.
  5. Follow up: Use the travel time home to send follow-up emails to thank visitors for their time and remind them about your company.
